Dear Parents, Welcome to a new year of Girls Scouts! I am very pleased to announce our first meeting: When: September 9, 4:30-6pm Where: Happy Chappies Nursery in Fintas Block 4, Street 1, House 51 Our Troop leaders will gather all the girls together to go over some basics of being a Girl Scout, and I will meet with parents to address the any questions or inquires that anyone may have. Below I have put together a brief overview of what we will discuss. Meetings Tuesdays, 4:30-6pm. Our first 2 meeting will be help at Happy Chappies in Fintas, but it is possible that we will move after our second meeting. We will try to aim for a special monthly activity as well. Yearly Dues In addition to the KD 4.5 to register your child as a Girls Scout, the troop will collect the fee of KD 30 for the year. The KD 30 includes the cost of supplies for the meetings, and patches for the year. With any surplus money we will fund various special activities. Registration If any girl wishes to participate in Girl Scouts after our first meeting I will need the registration papers as well as a copy of Civil Id or passport and Health forms. We will not have access to copiers or printers, so it is important that you bring all forms and copies with you. Registration is KD 4.5 and is submitted to the Girl Scouts Council of New York and covers insurance for the girls and volunteers while with the troop. Materials and Uniforms The Girls will be expected to wear a white t-shirt or polo with the vest or sash of their corresponding troop. The girls are welcome to wear jeans on the bottom, so we can all match. Each girl will need to have the troop binder and journey book as well. Our troops will use the following books: Daisy’s Flower Garden Journey Brownie’s Quest Journey Junior’s Agent of Change Journey Cadette’s Breathe Journey I recommend that the girls who are starting in a new troop or for the first time order the starter kit. If you already have the binder and uniform, you will just need the Journey book. I will attach the order form if you wish to place an order through the troop, please bring the form completed, along with the correct amount of money. Otherwise feel free to place an order on your own at www.girlscoutshop.com We look forward to seeing you all on September 9 at 4:30, please be on time. Thanks!_______________________ Melissa OrnelasU SAGSO Kuwait OCC 9914-9790 www.facebook.com/GirlScoutsKuwait Attention Mommies:
