Because we were raised to believe that if you didn't have something good to say, you shouldn't say anything at all. Being a mom has actually taught me more about myself that I ever expected. I think deeper about the meaning and implication of my actions, about how I view the world and how I engage with it and especially how my behavior is interpreted and understood by my children. Definitely being a mom has made me a better person, more focused and more happy and more tolerant (ok, well, trying to be more tolerant) of other people's idiosyncrasies. |
