Finding the right pediatrician for your child is often a matter of trial and error. Different parents look for different things in their pediatricians. Kuwait Moms Guide has put together five important questions to ask when looking for a pediatrician.
1. What is your philosophy of child rearing/medicine? How often do you prescribe antibiotics for children? How would you treat an infant’s cold?
2. What are your qualifications and where did you train? How do you stay up-to-date with current trends/developments in pediatric medicine?
3. What are your hospital/clinics hours? Can we call you on your mobile # and do you respond to afterhours calls?
4. How often should I bring my child for wellness visits? What will a wellness checkup consist of?
5. What happens when you are on holiday?
You should also consider bedside manner, does your child like the doctor and does the doctor take the time to make your child feel comfortable?
