Mom in Kuwait Merly Abbey wanted to share her experience and ideas for several simple and very easy kids art projects that will help encourage your child's creativity while also allowing them the satisfaction of an interesting completed project. Materials can be found at the arts and crafts supply shops in Dasman Complex in Kuwait City.
Masking tape art project
Materials needed:
- Masking tape or washi tape of various colors and designs
- acrylic paint
- canvas board
Place tape on the canvas board in whichever pattern you like. Then paint in the spaces between the tape. Voila!
Recycle and upcycle old CDs
Reuse old CDs – color, cut and glue old CDs to create interesting designs on a canvas board.
Rainbow glitter art
Buy plastic sheets in all colors with little embellishments and designs (can be found at City Star for 450 fils a sheet) and create a rainbow.
Recycled paper snowman
Get some recycled paper from your home or office shredder to create the perfect snowman. You can draw an outline of the snowman on the canvas with a light pencil and then glue on the shredded paper to create the head and body. Use craft or construction paper in black to make the hat, buttons and eyes and orange to create the nose. Use blue spray paint (We used Stanger color spray which had very little smell) for a blue background sky effect.
